The astrology computations were developed by Astrologer Prasannan, who has over 25 years of experience and has consulted tens of thousands of clients in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, & around the world.

Prasannan is a Jyotish Astrologer of international renown. Having consulted with more than 100,000 clients throughout the world (Europe, Japan, Australia and India, USA & Canada). From 1992 to 2011 he lived in India and traveled world-wide, offering Jyotish consultations, raising funds for charity. In 2011, he returned to Canada, and established his independent Jyotish practice.

Nakshatra

The Love Digits Nakshatra matching component is traditional to Vedic Astrology, whereby the Rasi (sign) and Nakshatra (star) of the Moons of you and your partner are compared and scored across 10 Kutas (categories).

Your Nakshatra is the star that the Moon was passing through when you were born. It plays a major role in shaping our thinking patterns, inherent capabilities, and destiny. It helps us in predicting the true karma of an individual based on their natural tendencies. The Moon is often associated with emotions and feelings, unlike the Sun, which is more connected with actions than emotions. Therefore, the predictions based on the lunar astrology are much more compelling.

Ascendant

The Love Digits Ascendant matching component compares the rising signs (Rasi) of you and your partner for compatibility. The Ascendant (Lagna) considers the respective elements (fire, earth, air, or water) and harmony between the ruling planets.

The Ascendant is your social personality. It is the part of yourself that is most readily shown to and seen by the outside world.

It reflects the physical level: day-to-day living, finances, and practical matters, based on the elements and nature of the ruling planets.

Your Ascendant is the rising sign on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth. Ascendants change every 2 hours with all 12 Sidereal Zodiac signs being represented in one day.

Sun

The Love Digits Sun sign component are used to evaluate compatibility in philosophy, core beliefs, and spiritual inclination, based on the elements (fire, earth, air, or water) and the affinity of the ruling planets.

Your Vedic Sun sign (Rasi) is determined by where the Sun is in the Sidereal Zodiac at the time when you were born. The Sun changes Zodiac signs every 30 days.

Indian astrology is based on the Sidereal Zodiac, where most people have a different “sign” than their Western charts. Western astrology uses Tropical zodiac based on the seasons of the year.

Nakshatra

Birth Number

The day you were born is the Birth Number. Comparing Birth Numbers of the two potential partners can reveal if there will be harmony in a relationship. Your Birth Number also provides insight on your individuality and personality.

Love Digits evaluates the degree of harmony between your birth number (day only). For example, someone born on the 27th of the month, the birth number is 9 (which is the sum of the two digits of 27, 2+7). This is displayed as 27/9. Certain birth numbers are highly compatible (e.g., a "12" male with a "24" female), while others are more adverse (e.g., a "23" male with a "13" female).

LifePath

The Life Path numbers are matched and scored for degree of harmony in a relationship. It is the number that influences the course of your life and destiny.

Love Digits evaluates how compatible your life path number is with your partner’s. Your life path number is the sum of your birth date reduced to a single digit.

For example, for a person born on 25 August 1983, their Life Path number is 9, since their date of birth breaks down as 2+5 (for 25th day of the month) +8 (for August being the 8th month) +1+9+8+3 (birth year) = 36 which reduces to 3+6=9. Certain life path numbers are highly compatible: for example, a Life Path “9” man with a Life Path “7” woman; alternately, a Life Path “2” man with a Life Path “5” woman is highly adverse.
