It’s Wednesday, June 19, & Moon is in Scorpio, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Anuradha. Libra invites emotional vulnerability, b/c vulnerability creates intimacy & that’s what relationships are based on—no intimacy, no real connection. but/& vulnerability, honestly sharing, is, well, vulnerable, & vulnerability is uncomfortable. It can make us second-guess, wonder if we overshared, if we exposed ourselves too much, if we are too different. And thus we land in our discomfort zone, which is Scorpio’s domain.
“It’s a strange lesson to learn that your differences, the things that make you uncomfortable about yourself will help you grow into who you are. those are your gifts.”—Cyndi Lauper
Do we want to be the same as everyone else, just another human clone? I doubt it! How boring would that be?! Moon is debilitated in scorpio, the least happy, the least intelligent—it’s where we easily succumb to being tossed about in emotional dark & stormy waters. But/& Moon is very bright now, almost full, so we have more buoyancy, more ability to surf these waters, rise above them, see them as opportunities, as gifts, maybe even hang ten!
Anuradha, the heart of scorpio, is represented by a lotus, which while rooted in mud, & only b/c it is, blossoms into a most luminous gorgeous flower, just as, well, what Cyndi said! This asterism is ruled by Mitra, the divine friend, reminding us to see the divine in everyone & everything—in our people, in our emotions, in our situations—as representations of & gifts from the divine.
It’s the thirteenth lunar day (tithi), the thirteenth phase of the waxing moon, which is said to remove all shortcomings & increase all auspiciousness. According to Swami Sivananda, this lunar day is when “nature assists the worshipper in waking up from his mental deep sleep & in becoming aware of the fourth state (Turiya),” where we connect to the divine.
Wednesday is infused with the energy of thinky, info-voracious mercury, who is in his home sign of gemini but/& also hanging out very close to the sun. mercury always travels pretty close to the sun, so he’s pretty comfortable with the sun’s heat. yet, while sun’s heat is a purifying force it can also encourage acting too quickly—in the case of mercury blurting out inchoate thoughts. let’s try, especially today, to perhaps listen more than we speak, or at least listen well, ponder well before we speak.
And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
