No Mud, No Lotus
Written by Jamie Epstein
It’s Wednesday, July 17, & Moon is in Scorpio, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Anuradha. I hate to say it, but Scorpio is where our emotional pain lives, where we experience dark nights of the soul. But/& Scorpio is ruled by mars, who gives us the courage to dive into the darkness of our psyche, into our pain, so we can overcome it rather than be victims to it, so we can rule it rather than being ruled by it. How do we do that? By being with it & asking why it’s there, what we have to learn from it, by extracting meaning from it. No pain, no gain, right?!
“As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light of meaning in the darkness of mere being.”—Carl Jung
Anuradha is ruled by Mitra, the divine friend, how can you be like radha (“anu” + “radha”), taste the sweetness of the divine in your friendships, experience the divine in one & all?
It’s the twelfth lunar day (tithi), the twelfth phase of the waxing moon, which is said to give wealth (“shri”) & abundance—money, fame, wisdom, spiritual achievement—in accordance with our vision. What’s your vision?
Wednesday is ruled by Mercury, who loves words & ideas, & words that express ideas, like: “Oubaitori,” (n.) “The japanese idea that people, like flowers, bloom in their own time & in their individual ways.” &, given that the symbol for Anuradha is the lotus, & represents the heart of Scorpio, the heart of darkness, that we all rise & blossom from the mud & muck of our fears, attachments, insecurities & negative/limiting beliefs.
And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
