Tuesday’s Mars: Harnessing Our Fighting Spirit to Overcome Mind-Created Obstacles

Protect Your Pride

It’s Tuesday, July 9, & Moon is in Leo, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Magha. While Cancer vibrates with the frequency of the divine feminine, of nurturing, maternal energy, Leo vibrates with the frequency of the divine masculine, of active, protective energy. Leo is where, like lions, we own our sovereignty, take responsibility for our pride, & take pride in doing so—not so much pride that it goes to our head, just enough to create a safe container for those we have dominion over, those we are privileged to protect, which means anyone who roams our realm.

Magha is ruled by the Pitris, the ancestors—all those who came before us who paved the path so we’d have an easier journey. They def include our genetic forebears, who, if you think about it, or want to think about it, go back all the way to Adam & Eve. They also include anyone who guided, mentored, taught & inspired us, anyone who modeled who we might become, showed us what is possible. This asterism brings a lesson about remembering our debt to our ancestors & remembering that they did the best they could. If we are carrying ancestral karma/trauma—& who isn’t?!—the best way to heal it is by doing better, being better, being the best we can be, by not holding grudges. Honoring the Pitris is a win-win—for us & for them!

It’s the fourth lunar day (tithi), the fourth phase of the waxing Moon, which is associated with Ganesh, lord of obstacles, who mischievously smacks down with them so we’ll have to smack down to deal with them & evolve by meeting the challenge. So our obstacles are really gifts.

Tuesday is ruled by Mars, our fighting spirit, who gives us the ability to, say, deal with obstacles, most (all?) of which are created by our mind, by our perception, by how we frame any situation.
