Thursday’s Blessing: Jupiter in Rohini Brings Growth, Inspiration, and Abundance

It’s Thursday, July 4, & Moon is in Gemini, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Mrigashira. After hanging out in the comfort zone of Taurus, Moon gets a little (or a lot!) itchy under the sway of Gemini; for Gemini vibrates with the frequency of curiosity & exploration. It is by trying new things, testing new ideas that we keep honing our sense of identity, know the truth of who we are. “Truth” is a key word for Gemini, seeking it in the marketplace of ideas & sharing it politely, not foisting in on others, not using it as a cudgel. as in, “don’t tell a lie about me and I won’t tell the truth about you” (James Brown), words of wisdom that just might have facilitated a civil & real debate the other night, cognitive issues notwithstanding. The desire & effort necessary, now more than ever, to separate fact from fiction makes Gemini a sign of the times, fo’ sure.

Mrigashira is the star of the wandering deer, of our incessant desire to satisfy our thirst for something we can’t quite name & forever eludes us … until we realize that what we are seeking isn’t “out there” but “in here.” Ok, I guess it’s gonna be another rock ‘n’ roll kinda day & I’m just gonna roll with it, b/c another blast from the past is blasting in my head, this time the who:

I’ve looked under chairs
I’ve looked under tables
I’ve tried to find the key
to fifty million fables

They call me the seeker
I’ve been searching low and high
I won’t get to get what i’m after
till the day i die …

If the who were the Beatles & got with a spiritual teacher & meditation, they wouldn’t have had to wait till they died & would’ve written a different refrain!

It’s the fourteenth lunar day (tithi), the fourteenth phase of the waning Moon, which means we have a new moon tomorrow & that it’s a good day to ponder our intention for manifestation. Hint: how can you look at your life with new eyes, bring a new, more positive perspective to it?

Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, planet of grace & higher wisdom, who is hovering at the most potent degree of Rohini for that right now, increasing growth, inspiration & abundance. Can you feel it?
