Let Your Imagination Run Wild
It’s Thursday, October 3, & Moon moves from Virgo into Libra late this afternoon while being supported & transported by the starspace or Nakshatra called Chitra. Virgo vibrates with the frequency of getting into the crevices of our life, Libra with sociability, with kick-up-our-heels-ness to celebrate. So let the goal of libra time encourage you onward with your Virgo to-dos. What part of your life still needs a bit more spic ‘n’ spanning, organizing, decluttering? Which habits need a reboot or recommitment or kick to the ground? do a scan of your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual bodies & notice where/if red lights are flashing.
Chitra is the star of the cosmic architect, who fabricated objects that were both useful & beautiful, like the flying palace cum warship Rama flew into battle against the demon Ravana. I’ve been inhaling “a gentleman in moscow” (highly recommend!), in which at one point, in the 1950s, we are introduced to an architect whose creativity, stifled in physical form by soviet communism, runs amok in his head. Giving his imagination free rein, he sketches a skyscraper 200 stories tall “with a diving board on the roof from which the tenants could parachute to a grassy park below. … a cathedral to atheism with 50 different cupolas, several of which could be launched like rockets to the moon. …” what might you concoct if you gave your imagination free rein? How might you merge form & function to uplevel both the beauty & the utility of your world?
It’s the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waxing moon, when the first inkling of light just barely appears in the night sky & in our consciousness, the first sliver of “this is what i want to give birth to, manifest.” there’s no hurry. Just be with that spark of light, ponder next steps to encourage it to grow & flourish.
Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, who inspires us & gives us hope by giving us the wisdom to see the big picture rather than sweat the small stuff, get bogged down by it (like, um, how am I actually going to turn those cupolas into rockets?!). It’s a good day to honor our teachers (Jupiter’s sanskrit name is “guru,” after all), all those who have inspired us & guided us, mentored us, paved our way or shown us the way through their example.
And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
