It’s Friday, June 21, & we have a Full Moon in Sagittarius, in the starspace called Mula. Full Moon in Sagittarius means the Sun is opposite, lighting up Gemini. And Sun has Venus & Mercury for company, although a bit too close for everyone’s comfort. Full Moon begins the completion of the lunar cycle that began two weeks ago with the New Moon in Taurus in the starspace called Rohini.
The New Moon invited us to ask ourselves where we might be stuck, too steeped in comfort to initiate the change we want to see in our lives, or whether we even had a clear vision of the change that is possible or necessary so we move forward.
While the New Moon gave us a gentle nudge onward, the Full Moon is inviting us to take off the gloves, bring our fiercest self, & yank out by the roots whatever is preventing us from being our absolute best selves. For Mula means “root” & is ruled by Niritti, an especially badass form of Kali—as if Kali weren’t badass enough! Niritti takes no prisoners, is ruthless!
Sagittarius vibrates with the frequency of our highest self, Gemini with, well, I won’t say lowest self, but let’s say egoic self: it’s a big self vs. small self axis. As with all polarities, we’re trying to harmonize them, not let one overpower the other.
With Sun + Venus + Mercury in Gemini, there’s a lot of energy focused on our small self, on our selfish, self-centered wants, perhaps to the detriment of our relationships, b/c Venus is being fried by the Sun (& that’s not going to change anytime soon) & being diminished by mercury, so is feeling cornered. Meanwhile, Venus is paralyzing the Sun, compromising our ability to see clearly. Yes, the planetary energy at play is not simple, but we can deal if we’re aware of what’s going on. You’re welcome!
Putting it all together: the Full Moon invites us into a cycle of powerful inner transformation. Our Moon work entails inquiring into & fiercely uprooting what’s really not working in our lives, asking, “does this align with the life i’m trying to create?” but/& doing so with some Venusian self-compassion. How can you use self-centeredness to the advantage of your highest vision of self? How can you be ruthless while being gentle—with yourself & your people?
And that’s your daily bliss! Which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
