Embrace the Energy of Venus: Friday, the Day of Love and Earthly Delights

Written by Jamie Epstein

It’s Friday, June 14, & Moon is in Virgo, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Uttaraphalguni. Virgo vibrates with the frequency of cleaning up our messy lives, of organizing, of paying attention to the details of our life that allow us to live our life. Virgo is where we sweep the cobwebs away, tidy up, pay bills & donate clothes we don’t wear, weed the garden & get the roof repaired, make appointments with our health-care people, finally start that heavy metal detox, recommit to meditation or going to the gym.

Uttaraphalguni is the star of contracts, especially but not necessarily marriage contracts. This asterism invites us to, if it’s time, get serious about our partnerships, but/& to make sure they are based on what is mutually beneficial for both (all) parties. If we do, that partnership will bring success, prosperity.

It’s the eighth lunar day (tithi), the eighth phase of the waxing moon, until midday, then the ninth. whereas the eighth tithi is all about harmonizing our shadow & our light (see  yesterday’s for more), the ninth tips the scales into our shadow realms. It calls in sarpa/serpent energy to slink into the darkest nooks & crannies of our psyche to examine our less-than-healthy attachments; for it is only by shining the light of inquiry on them, asking ourselves why they’re present, what we have to learn from them, that we can transform shadow into wisdom.

Friday is ruled by Venus, planet of love (& other earthly delights).

“You can love only when you are here, when you are truly present. … you have to practice being here, by mindful breathing or mindful walking, or any other practice that helps you be present as a free person for yourself & for the person you love.”—Thich nhat hanh

Bonus track: Sun is moving from Taurus into Gemini midday, joining Venus & Mercury, who got there first. Sun is our soul(ar) battery & when he moves signs, it’s just like when we move into a new house—his energy, all his battery power, is focused on that. We may thus be feeling like our own battery is in the red zone in terms of attending to our usually scheduled business. So it’s a good idea to cut ourselves some slack, lower our expectations, even take a “beach day,” if possible.

And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. may it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
