It’s Wednesday, September 18, & Moon is in Pisces, in the starspace or Nakshatra called Uttarabhadra. Pisces vibrates with the frequency of otherworldliness, of our otherworldliness, of our existence beyond this mortal coil, our oneness with all that is & our longing to experience it. Pisces is where we want to drop way in but can end up dropping way out, checking out, numbing out, b/c we don’t know the difference, b/c we aren’t resourced enough. Under the sway of Pisces’ less evolved energy, there is a tendency to lose ourselves, obliterate ourselves, medicate ourselves by overconsuming food or sex or drugs or alcohol or netflix or shopping. Mo judgment—I mean, who doesn’t need a Netflix binge sometimes?! Just good to notice what & how much we are consuming & why.
“The situation the earth is in today has been created by unmindful production & unmindful consumption. We consume to forget our worries & our anxieties. Tranquilising ourselves with overconsumption is not the way.”—Thich Nhat Hanh
Uttarabhadra is the counterpart to yesterdays Purvabhadra. Purva gives us an “aha!” moment of insight, Uttara invites us to run with it, use it or lose it. Both asterisms are related to a funeral cot & Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, where we dive deep into sleep, go unconscious, die in a way, before arising again, awaking. Sometimes we get our best ideas while dreaming, while allowing our conscious mind to dissolve. Ever get an “aha!” moment in meditation & have to jump up from your cushion to write it down, or is it just me?!
It’s the first lunar day (tithi), the first phase of the waning Moon, so we’re still releasing any lingering doubts or confusion about what we want to manifest, refining our vision so it is crystal clear. If your vision is still a little murky, if you are second-guessing yourself, the nectar of this tithi will support you in arising & conquering any misgivings.
Wednesday is ruled by talky, inquisitive Mercury, who loves to have conversations with people in order to learn, not so his/her/their biases can be confirmed. Mercury knows that true dialogue is based as much on listening as on speaking (maybe even more than!). Given these fraught, divisive, media-spin-on-steroids times, it’s an especially good day to practice our mercurial skills.
And that’s your daily bliss! which is a sort of lunar weather report. May it allow you to align with the day’s cosmic energy so you can find & create a little more bliss.
